A major obstacle to being consistently profitable for the transportation industry is to reduce their fuel costs because it is at the mercy of the oil producers and distributors worldwide. The industry does NOT have to spend additional funds but should use their existing expenditures in a more productive and creative fashion. For example, allocate 15% of the existing budgets reserved for advertising, and marketing and use them to develop financial incentives for fuel efficiencies. Splash this program on your website, public media, and traditional media to obtain the attention of your customers and public. Ask that the recipients of these funds to agree to participate in photo ops and commendation statements. Set up monetary incentives for NEW customers who purchase your services 

Setting up numerous electrical charging stations with preferred parking for your staff and sponsoring the same stations in the community with your advertising are strong positive steps. Implementing the Snapshot Survey of Your Oil Consumption on a periodic basis (annually) to measure and reward progress is a necessary and low cost process.
